Product Description

Electrolytic polisher EPV1 helps in polishing & etching the specimens electrolytically. The Specimen is held in a clamp as anode & dipped in the solution of an electrolyte like KOH or NaOH or Oxalic acid. A fixed voltage at fixed current is passed for pre determined period of time. This polisher is recommended for etching specimens of stainless steels such as duplex .

Advanced Control and Safety Features

Equipped with a digital display and keypad, users can precisely set current (up to 10 A) and timing for each polishing cycle. The system includes overcurrent protection, a splash guard, and air cooling for safe polishing operations. The corrosion-resistant body further enhances long-term durability in rigorous laboratory environments.

Optimized for Metallurgical Sample Preparation

Designed to accommodate specimens up to 40 mm in diameter, this electrolytic polisher provides uniform, reproducible finish required for metallographic analysis. The device supports commonly used electrolytes including perchloric acid, with integrated heating ensuring consistent temperature conditions throughout the polishing process.

Reliable Performance and Flexible Operation

This semi-automatic polisher permits both manual and timed cycles, adapting to variable laboratory workflows. With a polished stainless steel finish and convenient included accessories (holder, tray, power cord), setup and maintenance are straightforward. Its compact design fits most laboratories and testing centers, maximizing workspace efficiency.

FAQs of Electrolytic Polisher:

Q: How do I operate the Electrolytic Polisher for metallurgical specimen preparation?

A: Begin by placing your sample (up to 40 mm diameter) in the polishing holder and securing the electrolyte tray with a compatible solution such as perchloric acid. Use the digital keypad to set the required current (010 A) and desired cycle time. Select manual or timed mode, and initiate the polishing process. The integrated heating element ensures optimal temperature, while the splash guard and overcurrent protection maintain safety.

Q: What types of electrolytes can be used in this polisher?

A: The Electrolytic Polisher is compatible with common electrolytes, including perchloric acid and similar solutions typically used in metallographic specimen preparation. Always adhere to safety guidelines and manufacturer recommendations regarding electrolyte handling and disposal.

Q: When is the integrated heating system utilized during polishing?

A: The integrated heating element activates with each polishing cycle to maintain a stable temperature within the electrolyte, ensuring uniform and reproducible polishing results. It is especially beneficial when processing samples that require thermal consistency for optimal surface quality.

Q: Where can this electrolytic polisher be installed for best operational efficiency?

A: This bench-top unit, measuring approximately 400 x 300 x 250 mm, is designed for laboratories, metallurgical departments, and testing centers. Its compact footprint and 1.5-meter cable length allow easy installation on standard laboratory benchtops while providing ample space for accessories and samples.

Q: What are the main benefits of using this electrolytic polisher in industrial applications?

A: Key advantages include precise control over polishing parameters, safe operation via integrated protections, compatibility with common electrolytes, and high-quality results for metallographic analysis. Its semi-automatic mode enhances workflow flexibility, while durable stainless steel construction supports long-term reliability in demanding laboratory conditions.

Q: Is the operation of this device fully automatic or manual?

A: The polisher offers semi-automatic operation. You can choose between manual mode for direct control or a timed cycle for automated polishing. This flexibility allows users to tailor the process to specific sample requirements and laboratory protocols.

Q: What accessories are included with the Electrolytic Polisher?

A: Each unit comes with a polishing holder, electrolyte tray, and power cord, ensuring you have all essentials for immediate setup and operation. These accessories aid in efficient specimen mounting and electrolyte handling during the polishing process.
